We were told we would receive a call when it was done and that didn't happen to my knowledge, later when at home I saw that Id been given an email- which wasn't helpful 1. I didn't have my phone, 2. I didn't have internet access to get it to let me know nor was expecting it.

Sorry to hear you were messed around with regards to time frames for your repair. In the interest of customer service, we like to offer all our customers a FREE loan phone to keep them in touch with the rest of the world while their phone is being repaired. This also helps in the situation where we need to contact you should we have any further questions or need to provide you with information during the repair process in this case to advise of a delay. We are sorry to hear that in your situation this procedure was not followed by our team member leading you to be disappointed with our service. :(

To all our future customers please ask for a loan phone so this does not happen to you, or alternatively provide us with a contact number of someone who you are with during the repair process. Vicky, we will be discussing this at our next team meeting to ensure this procedure is adhered to in the future to avoid disappointment to important customers like you who keep us in business. Thank you for taking time to let us know when we get it wrong so we can work at getting it right.

After receiving my phone back (Samsung Galaxy S2) from getting the screen replaced, the phone started turning on and off by itself. I took it back to the shop and received a phone call the next day saying that it must be the software causing the problem. I still can't work out how a problem that did not exist before the repair can be related to the same software that existed both before and after the repair. I was told that they would have to send it to Samsung for a software update. I'm not sure why this had to happen as you can set the phone to automatic updates or just do it manually whenever a software update becomes available. They said it usually takes 2-3 days. It took 11 days to get my phone back. Before I gave the go ahead to send the phone away I arranged with them to backup my photos and my contacts stored on my phone. Upon receiving the phone back, I realised that no contacts were in fact backup up and I had indeed lost all of my contacts. They assumed that for some reason, everyone likes to save their contacts in cyberspace using a google account. I don't. My contacts were saved on my phone and no where else which is why I explicitly asked them to back up the contacts. Even a simple 'save to SIM card' would have done the trick. Now I have no way of finding out many of the important numbers I had gathered over the last few months. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Response from Fix My Mobile:
Dear Jason,

We are disappointed to hear that you were not happy with our services. We have looked at the notes for your repair and would like to address your questions as to why things were not performed to your satisfaction. When your phone was returned to us we were unable to replicate the fault, therefore in the interest of good customer service we advised it was best to be sent away for the manufacturer to preform a complete software update rather than an over the air OS software update which can sometimes not be successful to eliminate rebooting issues in Samsung devices. We offered this free of charge and we usually advise 2-3 weeks turnaround time as we are not able to predict accurate timeframes for the manufacturer. We provided you with a free loan phone in the meantime so you would not be without a phone for this duration.Our notes do not say anything about performing a data back up for you as this is usually written in our back office notes when people request that they require their data is important to them and we have a celebrite machine that we are happy to use in store for data back ups for customers. We do not back up to sim card as with smart phones these days the quantity of data is sometimes not able to be completely backed up to a sim card.

We believe there has been two miscommunications with regards to your experience with us, firstly that you were told 2-3 days instead of 2-3 weeks and secondly no notes to back up your data have been made resulting in your data being wiped by the manufacturer. On our terms and conditions and the receipt docket we state that we are not liable for data loss however we always strive to back up data when possible for customers who request it as we know how important information stored on our phones is for everyone these days. We are truly sorry that your experience with Fix My Mobile was disappointing and we want to assure you from your valued feedback we will be having a meeting to discuss within our team how we can eliminate this situation from arising again to another important customer in the future and improve the services we offer at Fix My Mobile.

We understand how frustrated you feel with regards to the outcome of your experience with our business.
